Right in downtown Dover, there is the new First State Heritage Park. This park without boundaries is made up of eighteen historic sites in downtown Dover. Dover is home to two historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places, and has over 300 years of history. Spend the day touring the five museums that are a part of this park, or take an interpretive tour of Legislative Hall.

Visit the Delaware Public Archives to do some research or visit the Delaware State Visitor Center. If that doesn’t interest you stroll through town and view many of the other historic buildings and churches or visit some of the many small shops that line the streets of downtown Dover.
