Fort DuPont and the Port Penn Interpretive Center are both administered by Fort Delaware. Fort DuPont is another fort along the Delaware River on the mainland side of Delaware across from Pea Patch Island. It too was built to help Fort Delaware protect Wilmington and Philadelphia. There is a self guided trail for visitors to explore the site’s historic past. Other recreational activities include picnicking fishing and hiking.

Port Penn Interpretive Center is another part of Fort Delaware and offers displays and programs which explain the folk life of the historic wetland communities along the shores of the Delaware. Self guided tours featuring the historic homes of Port Penn and the scenic marshlands surrounding the town are available.
